10 things you probably don't know about me. This is me, Tara. I'm going to try to get Crystal to do one of these as well. Finger's crossed.

Hum, well I'm not a complicated person and very private so this is rather difficult for me. I honestly do not know which way this blog will go...yikes. You know, something very neat or very bad is about to happen when country folk says, "Here hold my drink, watch this"...Well, hold my drink folks...without much a do, here goes nothing.

1: I am not a true Kentucky native. I know, the shame, the horror of it all. Hear me out folks, I have lived in KY for most of my life though, so yeah I bleed blue (Go Big Blue) well, sorta, not actually into sports really that much but ya get my meaning. I was born in Ohio. Yes, yes I know I'm a buckeye. Where I grew up there's a rather large lake that a lot of people would travel to visit. In particular, a lot of people from Ohio. They became nicknamed the Ohio Navy. When the weather warmed up, everyone knew to keep an eye out for the Ohio Navy hauling their big fancy boats, down to the various boat docks to spend days out on the lake.

Ya know, when I was younger, I once looked up the definition of Buckeye. The Webster's dictionary (paperback book, you know before Google, how did we ever survive?) truly did say that a buckeye was a worthless nut. However, I suppose someone in Ohio did not agree with that particular statement, so it has since been changed. Now, I can not find that definition anywhere! I'm not hallucinating really, it did say that, IT DID! did too.. Hum, okay regardless I suppose I am a worthless nut anyway.

Okay that wasn't so bad, 1 checked off only 9 more to go..uggg.

2: Number 2 - geez, this hard. Um, I guess if you don't know by now I love technology and all things gadget. I was taught by my mom at a very young age about computers. My mom was one of the first women in my hometown and area that knew anything about computers. She was a system analyst and even taught a computer course at the local college. So I guess you can say CPUs are in my DNA. lol. I remember our first computer. My mom bought all the pieces separately then she built that thing herself. It had the newest operating system out, the latest, the greatest (not really), that oh so exciting Windows 3.1. You should go look that bad baby up. Wow, we have really come far since then. That was before the internet, before YouTube tutorials. She had to use her know how and figure it all out using something that seems to be missing a lot anymore, her mind. We had something called Bulletin boards. You'd get to use the ol' fun, time to teach ya patience, dial up (bo beep beep bo....) if you know, you know, if ya don't, well I'm not about to explain it ya. See we'd dial-up another persons phone number which then took you to their Bulletin board site, which was usually a green and black screen where if it wasn't busy, you could play the coolest games like different variations of Snake and mystery games that you had to type in the directions and instructions. Those were the best.

Still with me? Wow, you're dedicated. Thank ya. I'll try to make the rest shorter explanations for your reading pleasure and definitely not because I have NO idea what I'm going to say (sarcasm people, sarcasm, I do use it quite a bit sometimes lol).

3: The third thing about me is I'm not a regular coffee drinker. Real shocker there, I know I mean there's got to be some kind of caffeine behind all this craziness. Wellllll..... yeah. I didn't say I didn't drink maybe yeah probably way too much pop (or Coke or Soda or Sodiepop or whatever you call it where ever you're at). Yup, not very revealing but there it is. lol.

4: A number 4, I am a mother of 3 wonderful children and grandmother to my bestest birthday gift ever. YAY!! The energy filled boy that is my grandson was one of the best birthday gifts that the good Lord gave me. Yup, he was born on my birthday. I also have a husband that spoils me rotten. He really really does. I don't know if I've ever known someone who can show how much they care by all the little things they do everyday. I am truly blessed.

5: Number 5- yay, I'm halfway done. Bored yet, don't blame ya, I'm a boring type a gal. Okay, okay, let's see. number 5, hum. Ohh, I know. I worked in Mental Health for several years. I really enjoy helping people, I mean seriously, there's nothing better than seeing a need and being able to help. It's awesome. I get grieved and upset a lot because I see so much need out there and I'm just not able to help. In those moments though I turn to the One who can help. I pray and pray hard for people. I have seen sooooo much stuff that it's just amazing how a person's mind works. You know, if you put 50 people in a white room with a table that has some kind of decoration like flowers on it then have each one describe everything that they saw, thought, felt and why they thought they had those visuals, ideas, and feelings you would get 50 different perspectives. It's amazing!!! All looking at the same thing but different in each others eyes. Life's like that a lot. The good Lord taught me that. It depends a lot on a persons perspective as to how they perceive something. A persons perspective is made up from their own personal experiences and life events. Just amazing.

Wow, didn't know that was going to go that way, shew got a little deep there. Anywho, moving on.

6: What number am I on now? oh yeah number 6. That last section threw me for a loop. Did you know, that I've known our Crafter extraordinaire Crystal for... well, let's just say I've known her since before I had kids and my YOUNGEST is going to be 21. Geez time flies. She's put up with me this long guess now she's stuck with me. After all, I'm now family (another post goes into all that).

7: Alrighty then, number 7 whoop whoop just a few more yay!!! This is getting harder and harder. So, yeah. I grew up on a farm with cows, chickens, horse, goats, dogs, cats and so on so forth, just all sorts of animals. Some animals were even exotic ones like Peacocks. Animals EVERYWHERE!! I had the best childhood. However, when I was a child I didn't realize that (like most kids). I made a blog post (on another site) about some of my childhood memories about my granny. I can post it here if enough of you want me too. Anywho, I was raised up on my granny and grandpas farm. Couldn't wait to get away but now I wouldn't give anything to go back. Life is truly strange at times.

8: Number 8, edging closer to the finish line. I'm thinking I should have named this 7 things you didn't know about me. I'd be done by now (long sigh). I'm not talented at crafts. Let me repeat that, I Am NOT good at crafts. Seriously, I've said this a lot before but I don't know if you grasp how bad I truly am. Don't get me wrong I love to craft. I dabble with crochet, cross-stitch, coloring (yes that's considered art, even if it is in my grandsons coloring books, give me a break people, with my talent or lack there of you gotta count it all. lol), and some of the craziness I see on Pinterest. However, I can honestly say that I am not sure that I have created or finished one item that I would classify as good. lol. It's all about the journey right and the love of doing something. Or so I've been told. Next!!!

Are we there yet? Ugg, Almosted (I do realize that isn't proper grammar as much of my writing isn't, thank you.)

9: Number 9, I'm Irish and proud of it. My maiden name is Roark and we came from the O'Rourke clan in Ireland. Quick fact: did you know that the O'Rourkes and O'Rileys supposedly had a family feud similar to the Hatfield and McCoys? Don't know all the details except it was over one or the other stealing a woman away from the other or something like that. People people, love triangles never work.

Moving on now. Several of my ancestors came over to the states during the potato famine around 1847. My mom has done a lot of research with other family members and has traced our lineage back to the first in our line from Ireland and their gravestone. Supposedly, part of my clan came to the states while another part went to Australia. Wouldn't ya know it, the ones in Australia struck it rich while the ones in states had a very hard time of it. Many settled in the mountains of Appalachia where I'm from. I've heard they settled there because the beauty of it reminded them of home in Ireland. I love living in the country, watching the fog rise from the caves after a rain and listening to the sounds of crickets and frogs all night long. It's just so peaceful. Well, minus the holler/screech of a peacock, smack dab in the middle of the night. That'll make you jump right out of your skin if you weren't prepared for it. Have you ever heard the sound they make? Go google it, it does not sound like something that should ever come from a bird. lol.

NUMBER 10. yes yes. YES!!!! I did it after I finish this. Yay. If you don't know by now, I'm very much an introvert. It's not that I don't like people I just don't like being around them. Yeah, that didn't come out right. You know what I mean. I don't like to hear things about myself, or be the center of attention at ALL!! I don't know if it's anxiety or what but there's days where just having leave the house is frightening (and this was before Covid and the not so lovely year 2020 became). When I have to do something that involves people looking at me or in my direction it feels like I'm going to have a heart attack, hard to breathe, I get all shaky, and oh so nervous. Oh but the good Lord has had me in situations where I had to be in front of groups of people talking and teaching. Probably to try to get me out of my fear of it I guess. It has helped some. If I'm in church though and need to go pray for someone or something that involves me getting out of my seat, I am almost petrified. It takes the good Lord to give me the strength and He does.

That's it folks, that's all I can think of. There's 10 not very surprising, I realize that, things about me. Maybe you knew 'em, maybe you didn't but now ya definitely do. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed.
