To be honest, I’m not entirely sure how to start this blog/memorial.
Marie was a light in this world that always found a way to laugh and bring joy to others around her. Crystal had a great idea and mentioned that we can add our own humorous stories about Marie. I’m sure there are plenty. If you knew Marie, you have at least one story where she made you laugh. We can always come back to this page to read, remember and laugh. So please leave a little story in the comments so we can honor the love and laughter that was Marie.
I’ll start with one of my memories of Marie. Years ago, I think we were going to a kids birthday party or something. Marie was walking between me and Brian. We were on a sidewalk and there was some kind of overhang of the roof. A big drop of water fell down and landed right on Marie. She turned around and walloped Brian hard and pointed her finger at him. He took a step off the sidewalk and looked back at Marie with the strangest look. I was laughing so hard that I was crying. I guess she thought Brian spit on her or something and she wasn’t going to have it.
Crystal told me a couple stories as well. One time when Marie was very young around 5 or 6, Sandra kept trying to get Marie to go take a bath but she kept coming back, shaking her head and saying no a couple different times. Sandra told her, “Go get in the bath.” Well this time she came back saying NO! Big Bee. Kept shaking her head and repeating it. Sandra went to see then they heard Sandra scream. They went running in there to see a some kind of great big snake that was curled around the back of the tub. Marie was calling it a Big Bee. LOL, after that if she was adamant and kept saying no or said big Bee they always went to check it out.
One time Marie pushed Darrell into the pool. Darrell had all his stuff in his pockets. Marie was rolling laughing. Darrell took it well but he can’t swim, so it was a good thing the pool wasn’t over his head.
